Privacy policy
Last updated: June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Huacomm Telecommunications Engineering (HK) Ltd. (“Huacomm”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses and protects personal data through this website, in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong and other applicable laws. By using this website, you acknowledge the practices described below.
Personal data we collect
We collect personal data only where you provide it or where it is needed to operate and protect the site:
- Enquiry form — your name and email address, optionally your company and phone number, and the message you send.
- AI chat assistant — the messages you type, any name or email you choose to provide in the consent screen, and the conversation transcript.
- Technical & security data — collected automatically, such as IP address, approximate country, browser/user-agent and request details, used to operate the site and to detect and prevent abuse.
- Analytics — aggregate, cookieless usage statistics that do not identify you individually.
We do not intend to collect sensitive personal data through this website; please do not submit it.
How we collect it
We collect personal data directly from you (through the enquiry form, the chat assistant, or email), and automatically through standard server logs, security tooling and privacy-preserving analytics as you use the site.
How we use it
We use personal data to: respond to and manage your enquiry; operate, personalise and improve the website and the AI chat assistant; protect the security and integrity of the site (including detecting and preventing attacks, fraud and abuse); and comply with our legal obligations. We use personal data only for the purpose for which it was collected, or a directly related purpose. For visitors in jurisdictions that require it, we rely on your consent or our legitimate interests in operating and securing our business. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for unrelated direct marketing without your consent.
AI chat assistant
The “Talk to us” chat is answered by an AI assistant, and you are told this before the chat starts. Conversations begin only after you agree to the notice shown in the chat window. Any name or email you provide is used only to personalise the conversation and to follow up on your enquiry. Conversations are recorded so our team can follow up and improve the assistant, are stored securely, and are automatically deleted after 90 days. If you also submit the enquiry form during the same visit, your enquiry may be linked to that conversation so our team has the context when responding. Chat messages are processed by our infrastructure provider (Cloudflare Workers AI) to generate responses and are not used to train AI models. Please do not share sensitive personal information in the chat. To have a conversation removed earlier, contact us using the email below.
Disclosure and service providers
We may share personal data with trusted service providers that process it on our behalf and under contract — for example our hosting, security and content-delivery provider (Cloudflare), email delivery, and the AI infrastructure that generates chat responses. These providers act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes. We may also disclose personal data where required by law, regulation or legal process, or where reasonably necessary to protect our rights, our users or the public. We do not sell personal data.
Cross-border transfer
Some of our service providers operate globally, so your personal data may be processed or stored outside Hong Kong. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps so that it remains protected to a standard consistent with this policy and applicable law.
Retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law. Enquiry records are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and our ongoing relationship; chat transcripts are automatically deleted after 90 days; and security logs are kept only as long as needed to protect the service.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising cookies. Strictly necessary cookies may be set by Cloudflare’s security services (such as bot protection on the enquiry form), which do not track you across sites, and the AI chat assistant keeps your conversation in your browser’s session storage (not a cookie), cleared when you close the tab. We also use Google Analytics, which sets analytics cookies — but only if you accept the cookie notice shown when you first visit. If you decline (or take no action), no analytics cookies are set and the site works fully. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for this website.
Analytics
We use cookieless, privacy-preserving analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to understand aggregate usage; this does not identify individual visitors. We also use Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google), configured with Google Consent Mode. If you decline the cookie notice, Google Analytics runs in a cookieless mode that does not set cookies on your device or identify you; if you accept, it additionally uses cookies for more accurate measurement. Google processes this data as our analytics provider and it is not used for advertising on this site. You can learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy, and change your choice via the cookie notice as described above.
Security
We protect personal data with reasonable technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and monitoring. To keep the service secure we may log limited technical information (such as IP address) to detect and block automated attacks or abuse, on the basis of our legitimate interest in protecting the website and its users; such records are kept only as long as needed for that purpose. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take steps to safeguard your data.
Your rights
Under the PDPO, you have the right to ask whether we hold your personal data, to request access to and correction of it, and to ask about our personal-data policies and practices. You may also ask us to delete your data where appropriate. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@huacomm.com. We may need to verify your identity, and for data-access requests the PDPO permits us to charge a reasonable fee. We will respond within the time required by law.
Children
This website and our services are intended for businesses and professional users. They are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
Third-party links
This site may link to third-party websites that we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows the current version, and any material changes will be posted on this page.
